🎦 VCF MEDIA interviews Hugo Guillamón: "Good results help you to gain more confidence. We hope to play at a high level and take the 3 points home vs. Alavés"

The VCF defender talks to VCF Media ahead of the match vs. Alavés on Sunday
Hugo Guillamón has been enjoying a highly successful fortnight for club and country. Fresh from Valencia CF's victory against Real Madrid, the centre back was in action for Spain's Under-21s squad, helping them to qualification in unbeaten fashion for EURO 2021.
Ahead of this weekend's away game against Alavés, Guillamón sat down with VCF Media.
"I think that the team are very motivated about this game. We have a good dynamic going and we hope to keep it that way, as it's how the results will come for us," he said.
"Good results help you to gain more confidence. I think that we've had a few weeks in which the team have been working well -perhaps without the results that we deserved. Now we have the game at Mendizorroza and we hope that we can play at a high level in that one, as well as taking home the 3 points."
Asked about how the next opponents set out their games, Guillamón analysed that: "They are a side who always give you a tough game. It's difficult to take points off them when they play at home. We have to focus on our own game and our ways of doing them damage. We have to keep going in the same way so that we can compete and -above all- take the 3 points.
"We needed a game like the one against Real Madrid, in which we had both a good feeling and a good result. We'd gone a few weeks in which we'd maybe deserved more points than we had got. The game against Real Madrid has given us a lot of confidence, and we hope that we can keep that going this weekend."
As for his exploits with Spain, Guillamón is excited about what lies ahead for 'La Rojita.'
"We've finished the European Championships qualifying stage, and that's very exciting as well. I think that the national team have good players and a good group, which is the important thing. We had a very good qualifying stage, in which we had zero defeats, and we are all looking forward to the tournament in March."
